Doe anybody know (step-by-step) how to set-up my Gmail vacation auto-responder, please?

I did try many times through the regular way : settings, etc.(I don’t know may be I’m wrong) but when I hit Save, it shows the message “You have enabled the vacation responder but you have not provided a response message.”
I don’t understand that. Plus when I sign out and then again sign in the Auto-respond is off and the message that I save is missing, at all.
Can you tell me what it’ll be the reason for that and how can I fix it, please!
Thank you so much!
I did try putting the text once again…Then I tried different browsers…both ways were without any positive result. I really don’t understand!

It sounds like your error message is telling you that you did not provide enough information. An auto-responder is designed to respond to every e-mail that is sent to it with a message, but in your case, you did not give the auto-responder a message to respond with, so it was unable to save your auto-response. Are you sure that you are filling all of the fields with information when you are setting up your auto-responder?

If you are, there may be an issue with your internet browser not correctly communicating with google, and you may want to try using a different browser or different computer (such as netscape, internet explorer, or mozilla firefox)

Edit: I just tried setting up a vacation auto-response on my g-mail account as well, I’m getting the same error message as you, but a yellow banner with my vacation message’s title has appeared on the top of my gmail page, which disappears when I close and re-open the window. I’m not sure what to tell you :/ this may be bugged at this time. Keep in mind that G-mail is still in beta. If you really need to use a vacation message, you can set up forwarding to your yahoo! e-mail account, and set up a vacation message there, it should work correctly at that point, but it’s a bit messy.
