Autoresponders?

I’m building a website at the moment and want to use an Autoresponder. What I want to happen is as follows:
When Mr. X visits my site; he will fill in a form giving name and e-mail address plus 5 lines of text. When Mr. A submits this form I want an Autoresponer to pick up his info, copy the 5 lines of text onto a standard response form I provide and then mail this off to Mr. A.
1) Is this possible?
2) Where do I get such software?
3) Would I upload this software onto my hosts servers?
4) How exactly does this work?

    1. I think You’re setting Your website on PHP, so you are talking about the simple mail() PHP function.
I recommend you study this function (don’t forget to read user comments). Link provided below.

    2. You don’t need software for that, just a programmer with some basic knowledge of PHP (or ASP).
    3. See above.
    4. See #1.
